Belvedere Youth Club (BYC) continues to embed Restorative Practice (RP) across all aspects of our work, ensuring that our approach supports positive relationships, accountability, and meaningful engagement with young people and communities. We co-facilitate a monthly Community of Practice in partnership with the Early Learning Initiative and An Garda Síochána (AGS), creating a shared space for learning, reflection, and collaboration among practitioners. In addition, BYC contributes to wider Community of Practice meetings and conferences, supporting our partners within the Probation Services to strengthen restorative approaches in their work.
Internally, we are committed to building capacity within our team, with all staff encouraged to undertake up-to-date RP training. Currently, 30% of our team are engaged in Train the Trainer programmes, helping to sustain and grow expertise within the organisation. Beyond our immediate setting, BYC is also working alongside colleagues from Community Restorative Justice Ireland (CRJI) to support the development of restorative programmes in Northern Ireland. Importantly, all BYC sessions are delivered using restorative principles, ensuring that respect, dialogue, and relationship-building remain at the core of our practice.
